According to Droma analysts, the average age of cars in Russia is 14 years. Compared to last year, the age of the most popular models has grown. Some of the most popular domestic cars – Lada Priora, Lada Samara, Lada Kalina – “aged” for 1-2 years. The average age of foreign cars such as Toyota Camry, Ford Focus, Toyota Corolla Fielder and Toyota Land Cruiser increased by one year.
Among the popular models, the Lada Granta turned out to be the “coolest” – in the first quarter of 2023, the average age of a car was 3 years. The next place in the ranking is occupied by Kia Sportage – 6 years old. The average age of the Kia Rio, Hyundai Solaris and Volkswagen Polo was 7 years, 2 years older than in 2022.
Toyota Corolla ranked first among the oldest models – 19 years. On the second and third lines of the rating – Lada 2107 and Lada Niva. The average age of these models was 18 years.
The oldest cars drive on the roads of Siberia and the Far East. In the Kamchatka Territory, the average age of a car is 19 years; in the Jewish Autonomous Region, the Republic of Buryatia and the Altai Territory, it is 18 years; and in the Altai Republic, it is 20 years. The youngest vehicle fleet was registered in Moscow, St. Petersburg, the Republic of Tatarstan and the Stavropol Territory (8-10 years).
