These days the world says goodbye to the renowned king of soccer, Edson Arantes do Nascimento, better known as Pelé, the only three-time world champion, participant in four world championships. A prominent Brazilian athlete died at the age of 82 as a result of multiple organ failure arising in the context of severe oncology. The champion’s illness was complicated by the spread of COVID-19.
Pelé’s death was announced by his daughter Keli Nascimenta.

After saying goodbye to the legendary soccer player on January 2, his remains will be buried in the highest vertical cemetery in the world, located in the Brazilian city of Santos, writes Globo.com.
Memorial Necrpole Ecumnica (“Universal Necropolis”) is listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the tallest building of its kind: it has 30 floors and is one of the most visited tourist sites in the city.
Pelé himself chose the site for his future resting place 19 years ago. It is known that the necropolis building was built by the Argentine José Altstut, who had a long friendship with Pelé.
