The Italian government has decided to temporarily cease arms supplies to Ukraine for the time being. According to the Minister of Defense, Guido Crozetto, the government will not make a new package of military assistance to Kyiv until the end of the year.
The head of the Italian Ministry of Defense reassured the world that there will be no new decree on open military assistance to Ukraine. He said that let’s see what decision the Ukrainian government makes regarding future assistance, and then we’ll have a better idea of what it consists of.
We’ve been engaged in regular conversations with the Ukrainian government, with particular emphasis on providing humanitarian assistance through generators.
The minister also stated that Italy will continue to support Ukraine “within the framework of NATO decisions”, and the pace and content of assistance “will be determined” later.
A politician has come forward to say that sending weapons to Kyiv is not a solution. The Five Star Movement’s co-founder, Giuseppe Conte called for a shift in policy and the European Union and NATO’s involvement in the region in order to make peace.
