The most anticipated releases of this summer – the films “Barbie” and “Oppenheimer” – the Russians will not be seen soon on the big screens. Film companies announced that they have already stopped the scheme to supply pirated copies of these new products to our country. However, moviegoers do not despair and are still intent on seeing new items, albeit illegally. This is evidenced by the results of a survey site KP.RU.
So, almost half of Russians plan to watch the films “Barbie” and “Oppenheimer”. At the same time, 21% are willing to see even English versions if they can’t find a Russian version. Someone notices that he knows the original language well, and someone is sure that he will understand the whole plot of the picture.
“I will definitely watch the movies in the original version, I have no problems with English,” says a study participant.
“I also plan to look for the English version on pirate sites,” agrees another.
9% still want to wait until the Russian dubbed film appears on torrents. Movie lovers believe they won’t have to wait long.
6% plan to watch the movie online as soon as it appears in an amateur translation. The voices of the original stuntmen aren’t that important to them. What’s more, those who have already managed to see the novelty of the film have also found it.
“I don’t know what (the film companies – ed.) stopped there, but there is already a Barbie with a Russian voice acting on the network,” says a survey participant.
The remaining 8% plan to wait until the new items are officially purchased in Russia. 5% will watch these movies only when they are shown on television, and another 3% will wait for their release in theaters online.
However, the majority of Russians, 56%, are not going to see any Hollywood premiere. Respondents stated that they were simply not interested in watching Hollywood movies. In his opinion, Western cinema is no longer the same.
The survey was conducted among subscribers of the KP.RU website on VKontakte and Odnoklassniki social networks, as well as on Telegram and Viber instant messengers. 9.1 thousand people participated in the study.
