The IV Artmossphere Street Art Biennial is accepting applications from artists, curators and critics until March 22 to participate in a parallel program, as well as a new regional project called Laboratorio de la Ciudad. This is a Winzavod initiative aimed at helping representatives of the artistic community from different cities.
The “lab” is divided into two stages: online and offline. In a first stage, the participants will take a theoretical course in the areas of street art: intervention art, conceptual, processual and participatory art, and public art. Training is carried out in groups under the guidance of a mentor, a practicing artist. In the classroom, you will become familiar with self-organization practices, master new technologies, genres, and media used in the city space.
In the second stage, offline, the expert council of the City Laboratory will invite 15 of the most promising participants to the offline intensive, which will take place from June 19 to 23 at Winzavod. As part of the training, thematic discussions and tours of Moscow street art, visits to art institutions, exhibitions and artists’ workshops will be organized. The organizers will help the three finalists of the “Laboratory” to carry out their projects.
As a result of the platform’s work, a “Methodological Collection” will be created containing recommendations for city structures on the integration of street art in public spaces. Participation in the City Lab is free. The expenses of participation in the offline intensive in Moscow are borne by the organizers.
