Jenna Ortega, best known for her role as Wednesday on Tim Burton’s TV series, and Riverdale’s Camila Mendes will star in Alba. It will be released by A24.
Francisca Alegría will be directing. His debut film premiered at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival. The screenplay will be written by Chelsea Laura.
The plot is based on the play by the Spanish playwright Federica García Lorca “La casa de Bernarda Alba”. The events will take place in our days on the outskirts of Miami. After the death of her husband Bernard de ella, Alba imposes a strict traditional mourning on her daughters and imposes a ban on establishing a relationship.
The film will be produced by LuckyChap Entertainment, founded by Margot Robbie and Camila Mendes. Filming is scheduled to begin this summer.
It was previously reported that Jenna Ortega, The Weeknd, and Barry Keoghan will play the lead roles in the upcoming film by Trey Edward Schultz, best known for It Comes at Night. The name of the movie and plot details are still being kept under wraps as it is in production.
