Jil Sander Pre-Fall 2023 Collection for Men

Jil Sander’s collections have always been about minimalism, but with each season things, while still laconic in appearance, are complicated by special details. The straitjackets are a bit longer than usual. The shirts wrap around like kimonos. The line of the coat sleeves is rounded. In knitwear: artist Richard Prince’s work with cars. Emphasis on collars: on shirts they seem to fly to the side, a protective stand-up collar goes to the coat, on sweaters it is double, as if two scarves were tied around the neck. The images are complemented by poetic jewelry: “crumpled” brooches, pendants with zodiac signs and sparkling beads.
