Jim Jarmusch explains why he will never see the Star Wars movies. In a new interview with Believer, the director said he doesn’t accept “the imposition of popular culture” and that he already knows “too much about the film’s plot and characters” without ever seeing it. NME writes about it.
Jarmusch says: “There are things I will never see. For example, I definitely won’t include any of the Star Wars episodes, because I’m disgusted by knowing so much about everything that happens in them. I have never seen and never will see Gone with the Wind, simply because it seems to be imposed on me and is banal. The director added that he, in general, was not attracted to large commercial works.
Let’s remember that Time magazine has compiled a list of the 100 best movies of the last 100 years. The rating also includes an image of Jim Jarmusch. The movie “Only Lovers Left Alive” became one of the top 10 movies shot in the 2010s.
