Jon Hamm Was Supposed to Star in David Fincher’s Gone Girl

Date: June 25, 2024 Time: 14:54:02

American actor Jon Hamm could have starred in David Fincher’s Gone Girl. However, at that time he needed to star in the television series Mad Men. He said this on the show “Watch what happened live with Andy Cohen,” writes The Hollywood Reporter.

“It was supposed to be me, but we had to film the sequel to Mr. Draper’s adventures,” Hamm said.

He was supposed to play Nick Dunn. According to Hamm, he would have done a great job with this, because both the character and the actor are from St. Louis. But in the end, the role went to Ben Affleck.

“Poor Ben. A boy from Boston, but he had to wear a Cardinals baseball cap. He wasn’t too happy with this twist,” the actor added.

Hamm’s words confirmed the 2015 Page Six report. He said the actor was not allowed to star in Gone Girl due to contractual obligations on Mad Men.

Earlier, a dubbed trailer for “Hypnotic,” starring Ben Affleck, was released. The premiere will take place on July 6. We talk about it in more detail here.
