According to him, the damage registry and the associated compensation fund will receive money from the Dutch government. “The Netherlands will finance at least the first stages of creation and support during the first year,” RIA Novosti quotes the minister’s statement.
Maliuska added that the creation of a commission to consider compensation demands is planned, whose representatives will have an analogue of diplomatic immunity. The new international registration will be synchronized with the already formed Ukrainian one.
Earlier, Dutch Defense Minister Kaisa Ollongren said her country was ready to supply Leopard tanks to Ukraine. According to her, together with the United States, the country paid for the restoration and supply of Soviet-style T-72 tanks to Ukraine and is now supplying German Leopard tanks. She added that the Netherlands would train crews and supply kyiv with ammunition.
