Disney not only builds attractions based on its movies and cartoons, but also does the opposite: it projects concepts of its own amusement parks. Director Justin Simien recently released a film adaptation of the Haunted Mansion attraction. Now the director plans to shoot “Captain Io.” Deadline reports.
In a recent interview, Simien said with a smile, “I would do a new short version of Captain Io. I feel ready. I will need a lot of songs and dances in outer space and, of course, hair gel.”
Captain Io is a 3D science fiction film directed by Francis Ford Coppola and starring Michael Jackson. The film was screened at Disneyland Paris from 1986 to 1998. The film returned to the Disney parks in 2010, a year after Jackson’s death, and the last screening was held at Epcot Park in December 2015.
We will remember, previously on the YouTube channel Rotten Tomatoes Trailers published a trailer for the movie “Haunted Mansion” by Justin Simien. The photo was taken based on the iconic Disneyland park attraction. The premiere took place on July 28.
