Karl Lagerfeld and Disney have teamed up to create a capsule collection. Its release is dedicated to the centenary of the iconic animation studio. It will be possible to purchase the capsule from February 23. WWD writes about it.
The collection is based on a sketch by Karl Lagerfeld depicting Donald Duck. The drawing was created in 2004. The designer dressed the iconic character in his own look: jeans, a black blazer, a high-necked shirt, and dark sunglasses.
The sketch was created specifically for the 70th anniversary of Donald Duck. In it, Carl wrote: “Dear Donald, seven is a great number, ten times seven is even better! Happy birthday! Love, Carlos.” Karl Lagerfeld’s representatives noted that the brand’s founder was born just months before the character first appeared in the film.
The sketch is now available in various shapes and sizes in the Disney x Karl Lagerfeld collection. It included T-shirts, sweaters, white shirts, jeans, jackets, bombers, and trench coats. Accessories include bags, phone cases, scarves, and small leather goods.
Previously, Karl Lagerfeld showed off a collaboration campaign with Cara Delevingne. The model paid special attention to inclusive and gender-neutral things. We talk about it in more detail here.
