In January 2020, the defendant created an organized crime group. It lured women ages 25 to 40 to participate in fraudulent schemes. They provided fictitious birth certificates of children at home to the registry office. Having received birth certificates, the fake mothers applied to the social support center for benefits.
“More than 17 million rubles were stolen from the federal budget by the defendant’s illegal actions,” the press service of the regional prosecutor’s office reports.
The woman was sentenced to five years in a penal colony. But she will go there only after her children turn 14 years old.
The court is still examining the criminal case against other members of the group.
