The prototype of the updated version of Kia K5 was shot in the homeland of the brand. The appearance of the car is hidden under a mask, but even now it is clear that Kia designers decided to slightly tinker it. The changes will affect the optics, which is expected to take on a more traditional shape.
The daytime running lights can be kept, which give the model a more predatory and aggressive look. If the shape of the headlights really changes, all this will imply the appearance of a different grille and fenders. Well, the plastic of the bumper, of course, will be revised during the modernization. Most likely, adjustments will also be made to the design of the lights and the rear bumper.
We managed to look inside the Kia K5 “2024 prototype, but the front panel is covered with a canopy. It can be assumed that the center console will be redesigned and two separate displays will be placed – the dashboard and multimedia set.
An update is necessary for the Kia K5, not just because it is necessary, but because sales of the model in some markets continue to fall. For example, 92,324 units of the model were sold in the US in 2021, compared to just 66,298 vehicles in the past.
In Russia, the official sales of Kia cars have ended – deliveries of cars are carried out through parallel imports, including by “gray” dealers who also offer exotic options, for example, the 240-horsepower Kia K5.
A similar situation is unfolding with the Hyundai Sonata, which will soon debut in an updated form. True, the company itself insists that this will be a new generation of the model. The appearance of “Sonata” has already been revealed.
