The organs were transplanted to two patients from the Khabarovsk Territory and the Jewish Autonomous Region from their mothers. Both operations were successful.
Colleagues from Moscow arrived to help Khabarovsk surgeons to perform them. They noted the high level of training of local doctors.
Ten such operations are scheduled for the next year.
– We have set a course – to become the medical capital of the Far East. There are more than 400 dialysis patients in the region. These are those who potentially need a kidney transplant. We plan to further develop this direction, – said the governor of the region Mikhail Degtyarev.
