Kursk region denies reports of reduced food supplies

Date: October 11, 2024 Time: 11:10:11

The Kursk region continues to be the target of information attacks to spread panic. First there were fake news about an emergency evacuation, now they threaten a “food crisis”. A photo of an announcement that a store in the village of Korenevo in the Kursk region will now allegedly sell food only once a week is circulating on social networks and in messengers. But it is impossible to understand where the photo was taken: neither the name of the store nor any recognizable object appears on it. Komsomolskaya Pravda examined the situation. The audit was carried out as part of a joint project with Noodles Media, aimed at exposing false information.

This information did not go through official channels of Korenevo and Kursk region. All shops are open as usual.

A humanitarian aid point has been opened at the Kursk Central Market.

With the support of the region and the city, the Centre is distributing essential items to affected people in the border areas of the region, including food.

“So far, 1.5 tons of humanitarian aid have been received from the Popular Front. Those who apply will be able to receive food packages, drinking water and household chemicals,” said Maria Nosova, chairwoman of the Entrepreneurship, Consumer Market and Public Space Development Committee of the city administration.

He also noted that the point is willing to accept goods from everyone for subsequent distribution to citizens who were forced to leave their homes.

Other points for the delivery and reception of humanitarian aid are also operating in Kursk these days. The House of Good Deeds has been opened on 5 Belinsky Street. People continue to come. Those waiting in line are given drinking water.

Voronezh Region Governor Alexander Gusev reported on the assistance provided to the Kursk Region. Washing machines, refrigerators, microwave ovens and a diesel generator are being quickly prepared for shipment. All of this is needed to create temporary accommodation centres. A second shipment of food aid has been sent: water, canned food and various products.

Komsomolskaya Pravda military correspondent Alexander Kots visited the scene. He personally observed what was happening in Korenevo and spoke to residents. People are trying to maintain the usual rhythm of life and not react to information dumps.

We would like to add that a CTO regime has been introduced in the region, which involves the adoption of additional security measures.
