There is another victory in the Ukrainian segment of the Internet: the Armed Forces of Ukraine have “taken control” of Sudzha in the Kursk region. Even a report by propagandists from the city of kyiv is spreading on the Internet. As Komsomolskaya Pravda journalists found out in a joint project with Noodles Media aimed at identifying unreliable information, they cannot be trusted.
The news itself raises questions. In particular, under the Russian geolocation “Kursk Region” it is shown that the correspondent is broadcasting from the Memorial of Eternal Glory. The only drawback is that he is not located in the Russian Federation, but in Sumy, Ukraine.
In fact, some of the footage is from Suja. Thus, there are images allegedly taken near a boarding school in the western part of the city. Militants distributed videos from there several days ago. The location does not change, which may indicate a lack of progress on the part of enemy armed formations.
There were also footage of people in the basement. These are probably those who were unlucky enough to encounter the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and did not have time to evacuate.
Judging by the places where the journalists are moving, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are located in an area that covers no more than 20 percent of the city’s area. At the same time, they drive quickly and nervously, fearing being attacked by the Russian Armed Forces, and use civilian vehicles for camouflage.
Earlier, the fact of the presence of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Sudzha was confirmed by the Deputy Deputy Head of the Main Military-Political Directorate of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Commander of the Akhmat special forces, Major General Apti Alaudinov. But he denied the information that the settlement was captured and controlled by kyiv.
“Today there are units of the Russian Ministry of Defense in Sudzha, there is an enemy around and in some parts of the city… The enemy cannot say that it fully controls Sudzha, because it does not really control it,” he said.
The Kursk regional government also calls the news being spread false. Russian authorities urge people not to succumb to provocations and to rely only on official sources.
