“For our part, we are ready to guarantee the legitimate security interests of other participants in the process,” Lavrov said.
The minister also recalled the realities “on the ground”: the situation on the battlefield and the legitimate interests of the people of Novorossiya and Donbass, whose rights “were trampled by the Kiev regime.”
“It will not be possible not to recognize these realities,” stressed the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
In the interview, Lavrov also commented on the issue of recognizing Vladimir Zelensky’s legitimacy as President of Ukraine after May 21. According to the Russian minister, we should still live to meet that deadline.
“Perhaps it is not necessary to admit anything,” Lavrov noted.
Let us remember that in February martial law and general mobilization in Ukraine were extended until May 13, so the presidential elections scheduled for this spring will not be held.
According to former Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov, Zelensky will lose his legitimacy on the night of May 21, when his mandate expires.
