Four-time NBA champion LeBron James announced at the 31st ESPY Sports Awards today that he has no intention of retiring from professional sports. The basketball player received an award in the “Record Performance” nomination and climbed to first place in the number of points in the NBA. Hypebeast writes about it.
“I don’t care how many points I get or what I can or can’t do on the court. When I can’t do my best during the game 100 percent, I will end my career. Luckily for you, that day is not today,” said the athlete upon receiving the award. In his speech, James added: “I want to take a moment to say what I’ve said a million times and I’ll never get tired of saying: I love this game. I like basketball. In the 20 years I’ve been in the sport, I’ve never betrayed it or taken it for granted.”
Recall that previously LeBron James, with an annual income of 121.2 million dollars, ranked second among the 50 highest-paid athletes on the planet according to the American Forbes. We talk about it in more detail here.
