The “Golden Eagle” film award, which was extinguished the other day at Mosfilm, showed the public another series of “men in black”. For the red carpet, our artists, as one, chose outfits darker than night: long black dresses with capes, black floor-length skirts and the same pants, well-buttoned black jackets, strict black shoes… Just a couple of times in front of the cameras flashed white spots of the dress code were reckless, but they could not dilute the general background. “Like a funeral,” said users of social networks.

So why do our celebrities from time to time put on “mourning” outfits? What is it, a sign of high fashion or fantasy scarcity? The KP.RU website asked stylist Ruslan Gromov about this.

– I want to note right away that black color is as versatile as possible and has a number of advantages. Firstly, black really makes you thin, this is not fiction, but quite a tangible effect, – said Ruslan Gromov. – Secondly, almost anything in black will look appropriate and stylish, regardless of the cut and model of the product. The black base in the wardrobe is combined with almost any shade and accessories, however, our celebrities often simplify their looks, leaving the total black. In fact, for artists, red carpet fees are quite a headache, everyone is afraid of facing criticism. And total black from head to toe practically deprives spiteful critics of the opportunity to express a negative opinion. No wonder the saying is widespread: “If you don’t know what to wear, wear black.”

Thirdly, the organizers of social events also follow the principle of “blacker than black”: if it is necessary for everything to proceed with decorum and nobility (read – boring), then the invitations will certainly indicate “dress code – total black.”

– The organizers declare this dress code in order to idealize the overall image as much as possible, – the stylist believes. – This is how it happened historically, because many world designers built a whole concept of the brand under the black auspices: they say that in the black things of this brand, any person will look 100%. It is no coincidence that even on the color wheel there is no black: this suggests that it is out of competition. Often the perfect look is based on two whales: black and a cut close to classic. Thus, the little black dress is still in the spotlight, as is the Yves Saint Laurent pantsuit. These are options that have stood the test of time. But alas, in front of the camera, a whole series of such classic outfits looks monotonous.
