Unicode has presented a new list of emoji that will be available on devices and the main social networks in 2023. This is stated in the company’s official blog.
There are only six new emoji among the candidates to be added to Unicode 15.1. Among them are a file, a non-poisonous mushroom, a broken chain, a nod, a disagreeing nod, and a phoenix. Although the list is preliminary, in recent years most of the candidates made it to the final communiqué.
The implementation of Unicode 15.1 is expected in September, until then the appearance of some emojis may change. The updated standard also plans to add a feature that will allow you to represent a variety of family types by combining emoticons. It will be possible to depict family members of different races, different generations, and even add such a pet as a “fluffy boy”.
Additionally, Unicode 15.1 will allow you to change the address of individual emoji, such as a running person. The innovation will more accurately reflect emotion and take into account the peculiarities of languages with a letter from left to right.
