Louis Vuitton, autumn-winter 2023 collection

The exhibition of the new Nicolas Ghesquière collection was held at the Musée d’Orsay. The set design, as in the previous season, was in charge of the artist Philippe Parreno and the director James Chilund. The collection itself, as well as the scenery, is based on illusions: transparent “holes” on dresses, double collars, rigid corsets on soft knitted items, trombone decorations reminiscent of the steel textures of jackets and coats. As always in Ghesquière’s design, historicism contrasts with futurism: huge leather pockets meet plaid suits and empire dresses with glow-in-the-dark glasses.
