“We will soon discuss these issues at a meeting with Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin and think about how to proceed in the future,” the Belarusian leader said at a meeting on how to ensure military security in the southern operational direction.
According to Lukashenko, a negotiation process is necessary. He stressed that the people of Ukraine are in no way enemies of either Russia or Belarus.
“We are not enemies of the Ukrainians. I have said this many times. These are our people,” the Belarusian president said.
In his opinion, there are “a lot of normal people in Ukraine, especially among the military.”
“We need to reach an agreement quickly,” Lukashenko said.
Earlier, Lukashenko ordered the withdrawal of additional Belarusian units previously sent there from the border with Ukraine.
