On Friday, the SBU announced on its Telegram channel that the singer had been sentenced to 15 years in prison in Ukraine. He was accused of an attack on the territorial integrity of Ukraine because he supported the request to recognize the independence of the DPR and the LPR, and also voted for the ratification of the “treaty of friendship, cooperation and mutual assistance”.
“I did not see anything new in the SBU statement. Hysteria and hatred of enemies is the best confirmation of the correctness of what we are doing,” Maidanov told RIA Novosti.
He noted that “today, sanctions have become a form of high recognition not only in Russia, but also abroad of all our activities.”
Maidanov assured that he will continue to protect Russia’s interests.
