Russian Post signed an agreement with the airline Azimuth. According to the document, the daily flights of Mineralnye Vody to Yerevan will carry not only passengers, but also packages sent by residents of the North Caucasian Federal District to Armenia.
– Direct mail between Mineralnye Vody and Yerevan will significantly reduce the delivery time of shipments, will lead to a decrease in the cost of the service due to the optimization of the logistics chain. In 2022, we send a little more than 1,000 parcels to Yerevan via Moscow. Now we expect this number to at least double, said Vitaly Afanasyev, deputy director of the Russian Post’s North Caucasus macroregion for e-commerce.
The project of a shortened postal route from the North Caucasus to Armenia will operate in pilot mode for a month. During this time, the technology will be tested, it will be calculated how much cheaper and faster the message will be. The packages are already supposed to reach the recipients in about three days. Parcels from Armenia to the republics of the North Caucasian Federal District will continue to fly through Moscow, but after the pilot regime it is also planned to send through Mineralnye Vody.
The next state with which such cooperation will be established may be Kazakhstan.
