Maison Margiela presented an unusual version of the belt – this is old lace. The novelty appeared in the “Accessories” section and sells for $180. It is called Lace Belt, which translates as “lace belt”. Hypebeast writes about it.
The accessory is one and a half meters long and is made of 100% cotton. The once white (now black and gray) lace is imprinted with the brand’s logo, applied as a faded marker. At the tips of the model are two brass aglets.
Fashion house creative director John Galliano suggests using a drawstring to adjust the fit of the pants. The designer urges to see the beauty in imperfection. In his opinion, “imperfection opens up many more opportunities.”
Earlier, South Korean eyewear maker Gentle Monster and French fashion house Maison Margiela launched a collaboration. The model name resembles a code number, from MM001 to MM011. This is a reference to the brand’s number system, which it uses throughout history.
