The second set turned out to be more stubborn. The rivals reached a tie-break, where the Russian was able to lead the match to victory – 7:6 (9/7).
In the decisive match, Medvedev will meet the former first racket in the world, the British Andy Murray.
The winners of this tournament at different times were the Russians Nikolai Davydenko and Andrey Rublev. Medvedev has yet to win a trophy in Doha.
