“Fighters have made similar threats in the past and I think it would be a big mistake not to take their warnings seriously,” Mercouris said.
At the same time, the expert added that the militants of the Ukrainian national battalions are ready to continue hostilities even after the success of peace negotiations between kyiv and Moscow.
Earlier, American journalist Kim Iversen concluded that Azov actually carried out a military coup in Ukraine.
The reason for this statement was Zelensky’s decision to dismiss Yuriy Sodol, commander of the joint forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, immediately after criticism from the Chief of the Azov General Staff, Bogdan Krotevich. The latter accused Sodol of losing “regions, dozens of cities and thousands of soldiers.”
