Starting March 21, the film “The Flying Boat” by Ilya Uchitel can be seen in theaters with the whole family. The main roles of Ivan and Zabava were played by Alexander Metelkin and Ksenia Traister. Metelkin, 31, will never forget his audition for this film, the longest and most painful of his entire career.
“From January 18 to August I went to these auditions. It was the most disastrous moment of my life, because only artists can understand what auditions are. When you audition once or twice, but here I had to come more than ten times. It is very difficult psychologically. My hands went down, my hands went up. At some point I thought that I didn’t want to participate there at all, but they still convinced me that I had to try and try, because for them to make a decision is also very difficult. And they accepted it. I really hope I have met your expectations. And in general, the wishes of everyone who watches this film. I was honest when I played Ivan,” Alexander Metelkin told KP.RU.
By the way, during the filming of the fairy tale, which lasted several years, an important event occurred in the actor’s family: a daughter was born. And they named the girl Zabava, the same name as the main character in The Flying Ship.

“It is called that because the name Zabava is Old Russian. This is exactly what we wanted to give our daughter, but we couldn’t choose. Among the favorites were: Aglaya, Lyubava, Zabava, Yaroslava, Pelageya, Vasilisa… And we discussed which one. And then I was offered to play in the project “Flying Ship”, where the main character is Zabava. My wife told me: “Let’s play the lottery. Let fate decide. Once they approve it, we’ll call it that. I was approved. That’s what they called it. Now she’s funny,” the actor shared with KP.RU.
By the way, Zabava, together with his father, mother and brother Leva, attended the premiere of the fairy tale “The Flying Boat”, which took place at the Karo Oktyabr cinema on March 19. Now the girl is 2.5 years old.
