“The first films of my career were music videos and I still feel that the combination of film and music is a big part of who I am. To me, there is no other artist with the power, charisma and sheer musical genius of Michael Jackson. His music and these images are part of my world view and the opportunity to tell his story on the big screen is unique,” said Fuqua.
The film is being produced by Lionsgate. In addition to Antoine Fuqua, producer Graham King, creator of Bohemian Rhapsody and The Departed, and screenwriter John Logan will work on it.
The movie will most likely be called “Michael” and it will tell the story of Michael Jackson from a whole new and deeper side. The film explores all areas of the singer’s life, including his most iconic performances.
