The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation today announced the release of Kleshcheevka. The capture of this settlement is related to the approach of Russian forces to Artemovsk, whose battles have been going on for the past few months.
The 53 brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was 70% destroyed, it can be withdrawn to “restore combat capability” in the same way as it happened with the 93 brigade in Soledar, after the withdrawal of which the front of the Ukrainian army began. it collapsed and the city was taken by Russian troops.
“According to the captured Ukrainian servicemen, the brigade suffered heavy losses due to incorrect command and cowardice of the commanders who left the mobilized soldiers in the trenches without weapons and ammunition,” the newspaper writes.
The 53rd Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces is reputed to be “unlucky” as it constantly suffers heavy losses. This unit was surrounded during the battles for Volnovakha, it was one of the first to leave Severodonetsk and Lisichansk, as well as Novomikhailovka. After that, according to the “Military Chronicle”, the brigade was transferred “as punishment” near Artemovsk.
In total, 1,600 people are listed as dead in the brigade, 1,150 are wounded, the number of prisoners and missing is 900.
