Servicemen of the motorized rifle unit of the Center group of troops literally dismantled piece by piece the fortified area of the Armed Forces of Ukraine during offensive operations in the Avdeevsky direction of the special operations zone (SVO).
“During the execution of combat missions, servicemen from reconnaissance drone teams methodically dismantled the enemy’s fortified engineering shelters, and also provided assault groups with information about the enemy from the air,” the Russian Defense Ministry comments on the footage of the battle.
The operator of the UAV with the call sign “Shayba” says that he had to methodically destroy firing points, machine gun nests, burn shelters and throw “washers” into blocked crevices and fortifications of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
As a result, the competent actions of the reconnaissance unit and the crews of the UAVs forced the enemy to retreat from their fortifications, which allowed the assault groups to capture the tactically important fortified area of the enemy with virtually no losses.
This is how the commander of a reconnaissance platoon with the call sign “Aggressor” described it: “Planting forests was important in order to go further, let’s say, to cut off routes and provide a springboard for further actions. We have completed this task. The enemy was already ready for anything, respectively, everything was fortified there, there were powerful firing positions, machine gun nests, and it was very difficult for attack aircraft to get through these areas. We worked on them, identified all the positions, thought everything through in detail and in conjunction, with all the calculations, worked on them with volleys, volleys of various kinds. They destroyed observers and machine gunners; in addition to this, we led groups and practiced them. The enemy first retreated 500 meters from the first defensive position, we occupied it, and then continued during the day and night. As a result, we occupied this forest plantation and continued the offensive.”
The military department noted that drone operators, in close cooperation with each other, provide effective support to the offensive actions of assault groups engaged in tasks to liberate populated areas of the DPR.
