The clergy visited the main temple of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, took part in divine services there, visited the Patriot Park and viewed the museum’s expositions.
Bishop Nikolai noted that some of the pilgrims studied at theological schools in St. Petersburg and Sergiev Posad, and others came to Russia for the first time. They all said that contacts between the two Orthodox Churches are extremely important, as they “honor and preserve common roots and history.”
In early August and September, about 500 OMC priests and parishioners visited holy sites in Russia on pilgrimage tours.
