“Social studies begin in the ninth grade, it will be a practice-oriented course, intended, among other things, for legal education,” the minister said at a meeting of the Education Committee of the State Duma.
Recall that the department has prepared a draft order according to which it is proposed to eliminate the subject “Social Studies” from the curriculum of grades 6 to 8, leaving one lesson per week in basic school, in grade 9. In the high school: one hour in 10th grade and two lessons per week for graduates.
In addition, the minister noted that it is necessary to pay more attention to the subject “History”, which should become widespread in the Unified State Exam.
