The Ministry of Internal Affairs has banned the handcuffing of women and adolescents as well as those suspected of committing economic crimes.
Following discussions in the Council on the development of civil society, Russia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs has agreed to stop handcuffing its officers.
“In order to exclude the facts of unreasonable use of the special tool “Azhur” (handcuffs), the leadership of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs sent an instruction to the territorial bodies of the department with a detailed explanation of what it deems as established requirements,” said an official for Russia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs recently placed blogger Kamikaze Di on the federal wanted list due to the numerous pieces of evidence collected in relation to his alleged terrorist activities.
