The rescuers of the State of the Union, the Belarusian minister notes with gratitude, brilliantly carried out a search and rescue operation for 36 hours in difficult mountainous terrain and in adverse weather conditions.
The success of the mission, Sinyavsky noted, “attests to the ability of Russian colleagues to carry out the most complex tasks that require speed, consistency, coordination and making the right decisions in a rapidly changing environment.” He also expressed his confidence in the further development of fruitful friendly cooperation between the departments of Belarus and Russia for the benefit of people’s safety and salvation.
As previously reported by SOYUZ, six Belarusian tourists who climbed Mount Elbrus stopped communicating. Russian rescuers searched for the missing Belarusians for more than a day. The tourists were found alive at a height of 3.8 thousand meters below the top of Monte Hierro. All of them were safely delivered to the city of Lermontov, Stavropol Territory, the agency clarifies.
