Within the framework of this course, MISIS University and the Russian Historical Society (RIS) opened the first university lecture hall for students of complementary specialties “History. Technology. Production”. These are lectures on the development of Soviet industry and science in the 20th century.
For a whole semester, famous Russian scientists will talk about the era of industrialization, industry during the war, space, the Soviet atomic project, the first computers, etc. The project is carried out with the support of Rosmolodezh.
“The glorious history of the development of industry and technology is an integral part of the history of our Fatherland,” said RIO Chairman of the Board of Directors Ruslan Gagkuev. – Russian scientists and researchers have repeatedly surprised the world by making, without exaggeration, great discoveries.
It is no coincidence that a lecture hall has been opened at MISIS: the university pays great attention to the diversified development of students. There are more than 40 different studios and sections, creative meetings and other events are held here.
“Last year at NUST MISIS the “History of Museums” project was launched: students go to museums related to their future profession, creatively reconsider the material and create their own creative projects,” said MISIS rector Alevtina Chernikova. – A new historical conference room, opened jointly with the RIO Youth Club, will allow you to deepen the study of the history of Russia, meet leaders, scientists and outstanding graduates of the university.
Students will learn how their future profession, for example metallurgist or engineer, is related to the history of the country. The best historians will tell freshmen how the main metallurgical enterprises were created during the years of Stalinist industrialization, what was the role of university graduates in launching production at evacuated factories in the Urals and Siberia during the years of war, and much more.
Among the professors is the head of the Department of Historical Informatics of the Faculty of History of Moscow State University. Lomonosov Leonid Borodkin, scientific secretary of the State Geological Museum of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Vernadsky Iskhak Farkhutdinov, Director of the Center for Economic History of the Institute of Economic History of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor Viktor Kondrashin.
