Model Peggy Moffitt has died aged 87 after a long illness. The news was confirmed by her son Christopher Claxton.
Peggy became one of the fashion icons of the 1960s thanks to her collaboration with designer Rudi Gernheich. She became a style icon of the 1960s thanks to her recognizable make-up with false eyelashes and an asymmetrical pentagonal haircut created by hairdresser Vidal Sassoon.
Moffitt also acted in films, making her debut in the film You Can’t Be Too Young. She has ten paintings in total, the most famous of which is Michelangelo Antonioni’s Blow-Up.
