In particular, the bishop visited the Central City Hospital No. 14 in Donetsk. He talked to the head doctor of the hospital and the wounded, and found out what the hospital needed. And the rector of the Church of the Holy Trinity in the village of Zachatovka, Volnovakhsky district, Archpriest Sergiy Korostelin, asked the patriarch’s representative for help in restoring the temple, reports patriarchy.ru.
Also, Vladyka Panteleimon celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the church in honor of the Holy Equal to the Apostles, Prince Vladimir in Mariupol. Employees and volunteers of the Mariupol Church Social and Medical Center and repair volunteers prayed at the service.
“His Holiness Patriarch Kirill asked me to give you his blessing. He told me. – I wish you strength to carry the crosses of your life. In this short time you have experienced a lot. And, of course, you should thank God that the temple now it is being revived, buildings are being built. Today our volunteers are present at the service, who have already restored more than 80 houses in Mariupol,” Bishop Panteleimon said during the sermon.
On the same day, Bishop Panteleimon visited the Mariupol church social and medical center. It was inaugurated in January 2023 by the St. Alexis Hospital with the support of the Sinodal Charity Department. The center provides primary medical care, stationary social assistance (laundry, shower, heating), specific social assistance. During this time, the center received more than 12,000 applications. During the visit, the president of the Synod Department for Charity spoke with staff and volunteers at the center.
Another church humanitarian center was opened in Berdyansk in July. Here, refugees, families with many children and people in need receive specific assistance in food and clothing, basic necessities. The humanitarian center is also scheduled to operate in the territories of three temples in the city, aid issuing points.
On the last day of his visit, Bishop Panteleimon visited one of the temporary accommodation centers in Berdyansk, where there are 120 people, refugees from Mariupol, Pologov and other settlements who have nowhere to live. The bishop also visited the hospital and the children’s department of the city hospital.
