Tinkoff in 2022 is once again the leader in cashback payments to its clients among large banks. The refund amounted to more than 65 billion rubles. This is 70% more than a year earlier.

In total, last year, large banks returned 150 billion rubles to their customers in the form of a refund, Vedomosti reported. Tinkoff accounts for more than 40% of this amount.

Other banks also raised their refund rates last year. For example, participants in Sberbank’s main loyalty program “Sberspasibo” received 60 billion bonuses in 2022, which is 5% more than the previous year. And VTB accumulated almost 20 billion bonuses for clients At Sovcombank, clients saved 3.3 billion rubles. (this is 38% more than in 2021). At Promsvyazbank (PSB), the number of accruals for retail clients increased by almost 30%. At Moscow Credit Bank (MCB), volume increased by 1.7% and clients used 13% more bonuses than a year ago. This increase in cashback returns is due to the fact that many manufacturers and stores have begun to use financial loyalty programs more frequently as an alternative to discounts.

Vedomosti noted that more often than others, customers choose categories like construction, entertainment and fast food for a refund.
