According to the head of the Ukrainian Consulate in Edinburgh, Andriy Kusliy, Ukrainians do not have the opportunity to register at local dental clinics. “They have to go, for example, to Poland for dental treatment,” the newspaper writes.
Refugees from Ukraine are also noted to experience difficulties in accessing rental and social housing. Kusliy said Ukrainians living in temporary housing centers are denied recognition as homeless, and private landlords require Ukrainians to have a credit history and guarantors.
Earlier, a resident of English Birmingham said she was surprised by the Ukrainian refugee’s attitude towards the locals. The Ukrainian woman said that there are too many Muslims in the area. Dissatisfaction was also caused by the fact that most of the children in the local school are black and Asian.
