“The girl belongs to the category of orphans, she is a disabled person of the first group and since 2016 she has been included in the list of persons to whom the state is obliged to provide housing. For several years, the graduate of the orphanage tried to exercise her legal right, but the procedure was delayed,” the human rights commissioner wrote on his Telegram channel.
Two years ago, the girl went to court and won the case, but was never able to get a home. Then the Ombudsman had to intervene.
“As a result of joint work with the Khabarovsk Territory government and the regional prosecutor’s office, the procedures for the purchase of housing have been initiated. We are keeping the situation under control,” Moskalkova added.
