American rapper Kendrick Lamar’s new album “Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers became the most streamed hip-hop release on Spotify in 2022. It has amassed more than 1.4 billion streams. This is reported by Hypebeast with reference to the data of the Chart Data service.
Lamar is followed by Drake’s Her Loss and 21 Savage, Future’s I Never Liked You and Jack Harlow’s Come Home the Kids Miss You.
Lamar’s first solo record in five years was released in May. In August, it became the first rap album to cross the 1 billion stream mark.
The rapper currently has eight Grammy nominations. “Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers” is up for Album of the Year and Best Rap Album, “The Heart Part 5” is up for Record and Song of the Year, Best Rap Performance, Best Rap Track and Best Music Video. The song “Die Hard” was nominated for Best Melodic Rap Performance.
Earlier, Kendrick Lamar released a video for the song “Count Me Out.” It was directed by the rapper himself along with Dave Free. Lamar also worked as a producer.
