They are starting to put straws in advance and are already saying that the Ukrainians stole a huge amount of personal data this and last year. That is, any data leak can be declared that it is data stolen before and not from us, ”he says.
Furthermore, according to Kaspersky, breach investigation is complex, expensive and, most importantly, difficult to implement under the conditions of administrative liability and civil proceedings.
“As part of an administrative case, you can’t go to a company and force it to show all the data. It turns out that even for commercial companies, billing penalties are not enough. But you still have to toughen up and fight. I would go on the path of personal punishment and increase the responsibility of managers, because leaders must understand that personal data is serious, citizens’ data cannot be treated as it should and we must seriously think about protecting it”, said the head of InfoWatch believes.
According to her, many companies, especially internet companies, collect personal data “just by the oodles, often even the ones they don’t need at the moment, but as much as they can collect. Then they store it all like they have to, and it’s not It’s no wonder then something goes wrong with them.”
