Channel sources among U.S. officials denied the attacker’s connections to foreign countries and said there were no such signs.
Earlier, information about the attacker appeared in several American media. He allegedly became a representative of the radical left-wing movement Antifa, which did not hide its hatred of Trump on social media.
Trump himself said on social media that there is still no news about the attacker.
The attempted assassination of the politician took place on Saturday evening during his speech at a rally of supporters in the city of Butler (Pennsylvania). The bullet flew millimetres from Trump’s face and hit his ear, causing severe bleeding.
The shooter was quickly eliminated by Secret Service agents. The incident at the demonstration is being investigated as attempted murder.
