The deputy director of administrative and economic work at the school was accused of negligence.
“It was established that the defendant, being an official, did not comply with the functions assigned to him, that is, he did not make sure that there was accumulation of snow and ice on the roof of the school, he did not organize the timely cleaning of the roof,” said the Murom City Court.
As a result, in February 2022, ice fell on a woman walking past the school from the top of the roof. The victim was seriously injured and she died in the hospital a few days later.
The court said the defendant pleaded not guilty. He was sentenced to two years probation with a one and a half year probation period. In addition, material damages in the amount of almost 52,000 rubles and compensation for moral damages in the amount of 500,000 rubles were recovered in favor of the victims.
It is noted that when imposing a sentence, the court took into account the presence of small children and retired parents in the perpetrator.
