According to Nebenzi, the meeting is attended by “twelve EU countries in addition to the High Representative Josep Borrell”.
However, the diplomat added, all these countries act “from a single Soviet position dictated by Brussels, and the discussions will not bring any ‘added value’.” Such an approach, Nebenzia believes, “devalues its value and damages the Council’s reputation.”
After Russian diplomats left the Security Council meeting, speeches were made by Borrell, representatives of Slovakia, Romania, Poland, Hungary and others.
