At a meeting of the Security Council of the world organization dedicated to the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), several Western countries accused Russia of using Iranian drones in Ukraine, not for the first time. Among them are the United States, France and Great Britain. In his opinion, Moscow violates resolution 2231 on the FDP.
“Both Iran and Russia have repeatedly claimed that the perpetrators do not provide irrefutable evidence for these allegations. All these are vague suspicions and assessments based on information from open sources,” Nebenzia stressed.
Western countries have repeatedly accused Iran of supplying Russia with combat drones for military operations in Ukraine. Iran’s permanent representative to the world organization called such accusations baseless: the Resolution 2231 ban ceased to operate on October 18, 2020. Therefore, the transfer of weapons to Iran or supplies from Iran is no longer covered by this resolution.
