Date: April 18, 2024 Time: 08:34:43

Writer Neil Gaiman has confirmed that HBO Max is still working on the Dead Boy Detectives series. The project is based on the graphic novel by the writer of the same name. Gaiman responded to a message about the shooting, saying he was doing “very well.” Dead Boy Detectives is a comic published by DC.

The eight-episode show will tell the story of two deceased teenagers: Edwin Payne and Charles Rowland. After death, the young people became ghosts. Together with his living friend Crystal Palace, they get involved in the investigation of a criminal case, which is intertwined with supernatural entities and their abilities.

Jayden Revry will play Charles and George Rextrew will play Edwin. Cassius Nelson landed the role of Crystal. HBO Max has yet to announce a release date for Dead Boy Detectives.

The showrunner for the series is Steve Yockey, who has worked on projects like Doom Patrol, Flight Attendant, and Supernatural. He wrote the first episode and also executive produced the project along with Jeremy Carver, Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and David Madden.

Netflix recently released an adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s graphic novel The Sandman. We talk about it in more detail here.
