Date: June 19, 2024 Time: 14:27:36

A trailer for The Three-Body Problem, an adaptation of Chinese writer Liu Cixin’s science fiction trilogy, appeared on streaming service Netflix’s YouTube channel. The creators of Game of Thrones worked on its creation. The show will premiere on the platform in January 2024.

The project will tell about the creation in China during the Cultural Revolution era of a secret project to search for extraterrestrial civilizations and subsequent events. The project synopsis promises that the action will unfold, even today. From the series, viewers will learn how “the fateful decision of a young woman in China in the 1960s will be reflected in space and time” and affect a group of modern scientists.

The program will show how, in a situation in which the laws of nature are being destroyed before our eyes, five former companions try to face “the greatest threat in the history of humanity.” The Three Body Problem will be executive produced by David Benioff and DB Weiss, known for his work on Game of Thrones, as well as Knives Out: The Glass Onion director Rian Johnson. The series will consist of eight one-hour episodes.

The cast includes Jess Hong, Benedict Wong, Eiza González, Hovan Adepo, Alex Sharp, John Bradley, Saamer Usmani, Liam Cunningham, Rosalind Chao, Jonathan Pryce, Marlo Kelly, Xi Shomuka, Ben Schnetzer, and Zin Tseng.

Earlier, streaming service Netflix unveiled the debut trailer for spy thriller Heart of Stone as part of the Tudum festival. Its premiere will take place on August 11. The video focuses on secret MI6 agent Rachel Stone, played by Gal Gadot.
